What is the Westnet Freezone?

The Westnet Freezone is a selection of sites and servers on the internet that Broadband1 and Broadband2+ members can download from without it counting towards the monthly download allowance.

Traffic from Westnet Freezone is counted towards the quota of any Dialup and Satellite Broadband plans, the Broadband1 Starter (256kbps) Option 1 plan & all Mobile Broadband plans.

What isn't in the Freezone?

While browsing Freezone, you will need to be careful about clicking links or advertising banners that could take you out of the quota-free area. Once you've ventured outside of the Freezone, your downloads will be counted towards your monthly quota.

Freezone content could also be counted if you alter the default settings for your computer. We recommend you use the settings assigned by Westnet's servers, to avoid accidental metering.

While the actual download of data is unmetered, some sites may require you to pay for content you request. For example, downloading music from the iTunes Australia store will not count towards your quota, but you may still have to pay for the actual product.
