This month we are proud to announce that iiNet is among the winners of the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 - coming in at an impressive number 13!
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies, public or private, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2001 to 2003) and includes all related industry sectors: Communications; Software; Semiconductors, Components and Electronics; Life Sciences; Internet; and Computer Peripherals.
Deloitte Growth Solutions partner, Ms Julia Bickerstaff, says the growth of iiNet has been astounding.
"Managing growth is challenging for many organisations, but iiNet has achieved exceptional growth during a downturn in the technology sector," Ms Bickerstaff said.
"With the Australian and global tech sector showing more prosperous signs than the last three years, the future is looking even brighter for iiNet."
We would like to thank all of our members, who have made us the WA-born success story that we are!

The subject of this month's Customer Profile was chosen as he was so friendly when he contacted our Customer Service Centre! He has asked me to make a note at the top of the profile stating that this interview was "made over the phone and included lots of colourful language and hilarity!"
What is the focus of your life at the moment?
I work at a Call Centre, am at university studying a Bachelor of Information Systems and regularly go clubbing with my friends.
What do you mainly use the Internet for?
There's only one computer in our house, so it gets used a lot! We use it for work, playing games, emailing... my Dad even works from home using the Internet!
Why did you choose iiNet as your ISP?
When I heard about the 16 Gig download caps in both peak and off-peak times I just had to get a bliink account! I also like having a 512 connection.
What has been your best experience with iiNet?
When I had to call up the Customer Service Centre I found Alicia and Lizz very helpful! They weren't at all like the usual customer service people, as they acted like friends. It was a really refreshing change!

Title: Programmer
How long have you been with iiNet? Just over two years now.
What does your job involve?
Developing new applications and maintaining software for internal and customer facing systems.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The scope of professional development on a day to day basis. I also really enjoy working with a great team.
Where do you think iiNet will be in five years time?
We will continue to build on our customer base and remain a dominant player in the Internet and Telco industry.

When deleting emails in webmail, you must first select the emails you wish to clear by putting a tick in the box to left of the email and selecting 'Delete.' Then you must select the 'Purge Deleted' link to clear the selected email from your spool.
This process can be used when a large email is blocking your email spool or you would like to clear any spam before downloading your legitimate emails via your normal email program such as Outlook Express.

1. Is there a way I can log on to my iiNet webmail account without visiting the homepage?
Yes, you simply visit https://mail.iinet.net.au and enter your username and password as normal.
2. How can I find out about my billing and payment options?
You can pay your account via phonepay, EFTPOS, Australia Post, BPay and Direct Debit. Some accounts also let you pay by credit card, so for more information please visit https://www.iinet.net.au/products/billing-options.html
3. I want to upgrade my bliink account, is there anything I should consider first?
When upgrading or downgrading between plans it is a good idea to check the bliink FAQ to assist with any questions you may have.

This month's tips go to fans of the PS2 game Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Defeating the Ring Wraith - When you fight the Ring Wraith on the Balrog, there is a tower with steps that you can walk up. If you stay up there, the Balrog cannot hurt you, except when it takes flight.
Deal with the Wolves of Hobbiton - Wolves will appear right after you leave Hobbiton. Run between the rock and the tree directly to your left. The wolves will not enter this area you are in. To attack the wolves, simply stay near the rock. You will not step forward when you attack if the rock is blocking your way.
Pass 21st Hall of Moria - Go into the center of the room and push/pull the four blocks of stone with the hands on top of the tiles that you can step on. After you pull all four, you will pass the test.

Over the last few months we have seen an increase in clients wishing to purchase DSL modems/routers at our fantastic prices. From late last week our members who wish to buy the following items can do so through the Toolbox:
- ADSL D-Link200 USB Modems $79.00
- ADSL D-Link504G 4 port router $139.00
- Ethernet Network Cards $37.00
This has become an increasingly popular request from existing clients with ADSL who either want to upgrade their own hardware or purchase it as gifts for friends.
All you need to do is log into Toolbox with your username and password and click on the new 'buy hardware' icon at the top.
Orders are processed the following morning, and items will be sent to your billing address within 5-10 working days. It's that easy! So go online today and start ordering!
We are pleased to announce that we have reviewed our current bliink home shaping policy and can now pass on a great new feature to current and new bliink home clients.
Traffic Shaping - peak & off-peak improvements
The traditional shaping policy that currently applies to these types of accounts meant that a client exceeding their defined allocation of traffic in peak or off-peak calendar month period would be shaped 24 hours a day until their reset time.
For example: bliink 512+ (Peak 16Gig + Off-Peak 16Gig)
- A client who exceeds 16Gig during "peak" period will be shaped 24/7 at 72kbps until their calendar month resets. This is irrespective of their use within "off-peak".
New System
As of Friday 28th May, shaping will only apply to the period (Peak or off Peak) in which the client has exceeded the limit allocated.
For example: bliink 512+ (Peak 16Gig + Off-Peak 16Gig)
- A client who exceeds 16Gig during "peak" period will only be shaped to 72kbps until their calendar month resets for this period.
- If under your allocated traffic allowance in the "off-peak" period, you will be unshaped and free to continue downloading at full-speed in the "off-peak" period.
- If you are currently shaped but under one of the limits - you will find your connection speed unshaped after Friday for the period under the allocated allowance.
We're all very happy about the success of bliink and hope that you will continue to support us as broadband gets even better!
The Refer a Friend Promotion is powering along with thousands of customers referring their family and friends to us since February. You'll notice we've thrown a new voucher into the mix; Retravision vouchers are available NOW along with your old favourites from Rebel Sport, Greater Union, Electronics Boutique and Coles Myer.
Just a reminder that customers who are upgrading their account from Dialup to Broadband are not eligible for the Refer a Friend Promotion. The created account must be new and independent of the customers existing account.
Don't forget you can refer as many friends as you like and you will be rewarded for each and every one. Please remember to read the terms and conditions before signing up; find them and all the details you need at www.friend.iinet.net.au

We recently put a call to action out amongst customers, staff and friends on the popular Broadband Discussion Forum, Whirlpool, asking for suggestions on what new 'iiMerchandise' we should invest in.
We were inundated with more than 400 suggestions ranging from branded keyboards to frisbees, stubby holders to corkscrews, playing cards to toilet paper! In the end Marketing decided to take the suggestions of the following customers who each received their very own bag of iiGoodies:
- iiMugs - Brad
- iiStubby Holders - Derek
- iiBackpack - Kazuno
- iiMouse - Chris
- iiNet Number Plates - Adam
- USB Lights, Watches and Memory Sticks - David

So let's get to it... this month we've decided to feature one of our favourite characters all 'round- SHREK! With the sequel to the highly acclaimed first installment due in cinemas June 17, we thought there was no better time than now!
Movie of the Month
They're back... the inhabitants of the fractured fairy tale world depicted in that first hilarious movie have returned for Shrek 2 - and they've brought along some new characters to liven up the tale.
In Shrek 2, the swamp ogre and his true love and soul mate, Princess Fiona receive an invitation to visit his new in-laws - Queen Lillian and King Harold. Seeing their much-changed daughter walking hand in hand with a giant ogre startles Fiona's parents. The Queen just wants her daughter to be happy, but the King would rather see Shrek disappear from the scene and decides to do something about it. See it when it opens on June 17 at cinemas everywhere.
Album of the Month
Don't forget to pick up a copy of the Soundtrack to Shrek and keep your eyes peeled for the soundtrack to Shrek 2...coming soon! The original album has songs by artists such as Smash Mouth, The Proclaimers and everyone's favourite 'Donkey' Eddie Murphy, so it's guaranteed to be a family favourite for years to come.
