Westnet moves to Central Park

Westnet Internet Services has relocated to Central Park in a move that illustrates the impressive growth the internet service provider has experienced over the past two years.

Westnet is vacating its 2000m² Osborne Park headquarters to occupy 3600m² of floor space at its new home in Central Park. The new residence, which is nearly two times the total office space Westnet formerly occupied, will allow room for significant growth in future years.

The move to Central Park has been welcomed by Westnet Managing Director Peter Brown, who has seen the company move from Geraldton to Perth to Osborne Park and now back to the Perth CBD.

“The facilities at Central Park are excellent and we are excited to have the entire Westnet team unified at the one premises. During the incredible growth of the company over the past two years we have had to acquire another property in the same street of our Osborne Park headquarters to house our sales operations. It will be great to bring the entire Westnet operation back under the same roof at Central Park.” Mr Brown said.

Mr Brown said that the company’s performance had exceeded everyone’s expectations in the past couple of years.

“We moved into Osborne Park anticipating the building would allow for five years growth and to exceed the expectations we had for the company’s next five years in a little under two years is fantastic.”

Westnet’s Managing Director also added that the company decided to adopt a rental model for the location of its headquarters, rather than to pursue an ‘own and occupy’ approach, to cope with the continued expansion.

Westnet has enjoyed over 80% subscriber growth over the past year and this has necessitated the need to move the headquarters to an office premises that can accommodate for the future growth of the company.

Westnet had a total of 80 staff when it moved from St Martins Tower in the Perth CBD to Osborne Park in November 2003. It will be making its return to the Perth business district with a staff of over 250.
