Email Protection
Emails containing spam and viruses continue to frustrate internet users around the world. They are often harmful to your computer and can result in computer slowdowns, unexpected behaviour and information loss.
The Email Protection package works by scanning all of your incoming emails for viruses or spam. If an email containing a virus is detected, the entire message is quarantined on Westnet's servers and a notification message is sent to you detailing the infection. If a message has a 'spam probability' of 50% or more, it will also be intercepted and a daily summary of all spam emails quarantined will be sent to you. From this summary email you are able to release spam messages of interest back to your email box.

The Quarantine
All suspected spam & virus emails will be quarantined. A report will be emailed on a case by case basis when an email that you send or receive contains a known virus. A daily summary of spam messages will also be sent your inbox. The summary email will display the following information:
- Sender
- Subject
- Spam or Virus Probability
- Time of message
The daily spam report provides clear instructions to a one-step email release process for spam messages which have been quarantined.
You also have the option to 'turn off' the daily summary email by logging in to Westnet's online Email Protection management site.
