SIM Only & BYO Mobile Plans

So you love your mobile phone and phone number, but you're no longer satisfied with your mobile plan. Never fear, you don't have to lose your handset and number to keep the calls and texts flowing. SIM only plans provide a flexible way to change your mobile lifestyle without starting over from scratch.

With bring your own (BYO) phone plans, you continue using your handset and phone number and Westnet will provide a perfect new plan for you. BYO plans are great for people who are still crazy about their device and number but ready for a plan change. The good news is that SIM only plans don't require a locked-in contract. Users pay month to month and can cancel the service any time.

Westnet has range of SIM only mobile plans that are compatible with a variety of phones, including those from Samsung's Galaxy series and the iPhone range. Depending on the mobile coverage in your area, the plans will cover you on 4G, 3G and 2G networks. Getting started on a BYO plan is simple: you pay a one-time fee for a SIM card that fits your phone and choose which plan is right for you.

SIM only plans let you tailor your mobile plan to your exact needs. There are options that cover users that crave multiple gigs of data, as well those perfect for people who don't use their phone to surf the web and check out apps. Whether you're looking to save some cash or are want an increased cap, Westnet has you covered.

Our plans will work on 4G, 3G, and 2G networks, depending on coverage in your area and your handset's capabilities. Our SIM-only mobile plans let you keep your old mobile number, while giving you beefy call and data value.

Terms and Conditions

* Not all mobile handsets are compatible with our SIM cards or it may be necessary for your handset to be unlocked before it can work with our SIM cards.

** Our 4G handsets require a 4G compatible SIM plan in order to unlock 4G coverage. (All current iiNet SIM plans are 4G compatible).

  • Included call value covers Standard National Voice calls, Standard SMS and MMS, calls to 1300/13, voicemail and national diversions.
  • Mobile internet data value includes National data usage only.
  • Using one Megabyte of data within Australia will cost $0.075 on the $15 plan; $0.03 on the $30 plan; and $0.02 on the $45 plan. Any excess data usage above your monthly allowance will be charged at $0.05 per MB.
  • Bundled Plans: Using one Megabyte of data within Australia will cost $0.03 on the $15 plan; $0.015 on the $30 plan; and $0.01 on the $45 plan. Any excess data usage above your monthly allowance will be charged at $0.05 per MB.
  • SMS text message (up to 160 characters) and MMS to international numbers are included in the monthly included value on the $15 and $30 plans. These charges are not included on the $45 plan and will be charged extra.
  • A standard national mobile call incurs a flagfall of $0.35 and a per minute rate of $0.90. Hence, a 2 minute national mobile call will cost $2.15. A standard national mobile SMS will cost $0.25.
  • Not all mobile handsets are compatible with our SIM cards or it may be necessary for your handset to be unlocked before it can work with our SIM cards.
  • All inclusive calls/SMS are for ordinary residential use only and are not to be used for commercial purposes.
  • A once-off upfront cost of $20 applies for a new SIM card
  • Billing increment is 60 seconds
  • Calls to 1800 numbers are not charged.

Not covered by included call value

  • International Voice including calls to fixed lines or GSM mobiles, calls that switch/divert or re-route overseas, International Diversions, International Roaming, International Video Calling, 124 YES (937), Optus Zoo Browsing, Optus Zoo Downloads, Content Packs (unless specified in promotions), Directory Assistance, Premium Calls/SMS/MMS, VOIP services and usage, and 19XX services.
  • International SMS & MMS, National Video calls, and Surepage ($45 Plan only).

Not covered by mobile internet data value

  • Data used while roaming internationally. If you access such services, you will be charged at prevailing rates.
  • Included call and message value expires at the end of the billing month and cannot be rolled over. Please note that video calling, data services and MMS are only available on compatible handsets.
  • A fair use Policy applies and can be found in our Customer Relationship Agreement.
