Super fast broadband speeds arrive in Bunbury

In recent weeks, the Bunbury (WA) telephone exchange has been enabled to carry the super fast broadband ADSL2+ service, for residents in the area.
In conjunction - Westnet has announced special pricing – exclusive to residents of the Bunbury area, for a limited time.
The offer represents fantastic value for residents living near the exchange, which was enabled on 17th September. Bunbury is one of the first regional exchanges in Western Australia to be enabled for the service.
Super-fast broadband services continue to gain momentum since the introduction of the technology to Australian households. During the March 2007 quarter, 24% of Australian residential subscribers of large ISPs (10,000 subscribers or more) had access speeds greater than 1.5Mbps (ABS). High speed connections with download speeds of 1.5Mbps or greater increased by 43% in March 2007 to 1.56 million, compared to 1.09 million subscribers at the end of September 2006 (ABS). ADSL2+ offers download speeds ranging up to 20Mbps
The Westnet promotion offers a free Broadband2+ (ADSL2+) connection bundled with the Westnet phone service , plus the choice of two of the following options:
- ½ price Broadband2+ plan fee for the first 6 months;
- ½ price Phone line rental for the first 6 months;
- Free entry-level modem/router (iConnectAccess612) or a $79 discount off the price of a higher-end Broadband modem.
The launch of the Broadband2+ promotion will give local residents the opportunity to enjoy super fast ADSL2+ internet speeds, with premium customer service from Westnet. The offer is available for a limited time, closing on 18 November 2007
Local residents can check to establish if the service is available to them, by calling Westnet Sales on 13 19 60, or by talking to their local Westnet agent.
