Westnet drops price for new Satellite Broadband Plans

Monday 15 September 2008

Westnet has reduced several Satellite Broadband plan options for a limited time to more keenly compete in the satellite broadband market. Westnet now charges just $9.98 per month on the 'Starter' 512Kbps plan option 1 for the first 6 months when bundled with Phone.

The two plans affected by these changes announced recently are Westnet Satellite 'Starter' Option 1 and Option 2.

The Satellite Starter Option 1 plan has dropped from $39.95 to $29.95 standalone ($19.95 bundled with phone), plus customers can still receive the half price offer for the first 6 months bringing their monthly internet cost down to just $9.98 per month.

The 'Starter' Option 2 plan has been reduced in price from $49.95 to $39.95 standalone ($29.95 bundled). Add in the half price offer and that's 512kbps broadband with 1GB of download from $14.95 per month for 6 months.
The price decrease takes immediate effect for any customer who signs up on these Westnet plans before 31st December 2008. Current members on these plans who have signed up since the Australian Broadband Guarantee was revised in August 2008 will now be charged this lower rate from their next invoice onwards.

Westnet Marketing Manager Dan Scott said: "Westnet is pleased to make satellite broadband access available for a little as $9.98 for 6 months, when bundled for a limited time. With free set up thanks to the Australian Broadband Guarantee and low monthly prices, there has never been a better time to get broadband in regional Australia with Westnet"

The free setup offer will also still apply to those eligible for the Australian Broadband Guarantee with a minimum value of $2750.

For full pricing information please see the Westnet Website here. Promotion ends 31st December 2008.
