Westnet reaches 100,000 members
Tuesday 20 April 2005
Westnet has reached a significant milestone of 100,000 members, putting it into the exclusive league of very large Australian Internet service providers.Established in 1994, Westnet has tripled in size over the past 2 years, with more than 50 per cent of current members joining in the past 12 months. The reason for this phenomenal growth, according to Peter Brown, Westnet"s managing director, is Westnet"s dedication to providing top-notch customer service, good value products and a reliable network.
"Reaching the milestone of 100,000 members is a great achievement for Westnet", says Mr Brown. "It marks the beginning of the second decade of operation which will provide us with new opportunities and new challenges".
Westnet provides Broadband, Dialup, Telephony, Hosting and Domain registration services. Surveys show that members choose Westnet based on a recommendation from a friend or other word-of-mouth advertising. The growth has been natural with no significant takeovers to report.
Westnet staff numbers are growing proportionally to customer numbers. With over 200 staff, the company is confident that the growth will continue for some time still into the future.
"We are very enthusiastic about the growth that we have seen and even more so about the growth yet to come", says Mr Brown.
Moving forward, Westnet are looking to continue growing its national Internet customer base as well as tap into new product markets by further diversifying its offers.
