What is Business Voice?

We’re living in the future and, while the hoverboard’s still a dream, telephone systems have come along leaps and bounds.

Traditional systems have someone calling and someone receiving. That’s about it.

Our Business Voice systems deliver better productivity, lower costs and plenty of 'ooh's and 'aah's.

Call transfer

Transfer a connected call to a third party or extension.

3-way calling

Make a three-way call with two other parties, so everyone can communicate with one another.

Hunt Group

Hunt Group lets certain users handle incoming calls to an assigned Hunt Group phone number. Choose from any of the following "hunt" schemes, each ringing in a specified manner:

  • Circular: sends calls in a fixed order. The call is sent to the first available person on the list, beginning where the last call left off.
  • Regular: sends calls to users in the order listed by an administrator. Incoming calls always go to the first available person on the list.
  • Simultaneous: rings all users in a group simultaneously. The first user to pick up the ringing phone is connected.
  • Uniform: as a call is completed, the user moves to the bottom of the call queue. The next incoming call goes to the user who's been idle the longest.

Group administrators can also establish a No Answer Policy to redirect calls to the next available agent if unanswered for a specific number of rings. If all idle phones are visited without answering, the call can be forwarded to an external number or given Temporarily Unavailable treatment (triggering voicemail).

Auto Attendant

Auto Attendant is your automated receptionist, answering calls and providing a personalized message with options for connecting to the operator, dialing by name/extension, or connecting to up to nine extensions (like 1 = Marketing, 2 = Sales, and so on).

Music on hold

Music on hold lets you choose from a selection of audio files to play to customers. This service can be used in conjunction with call hold and call park.

Simultaneous ring

Simultaneous Ring means multiple phones ring at once when calls are made to the BroadWorks phone number, with the first phone answered taking the call. For example, calls to a desk phone could also ring a mobile phone in case the user is away from the desk.

Do not disturb

Set a station as unavailable so incoming calls are given a busy treatment. Activate and deactivate the service by dialling a feature access code or configuring the service via online.

Speed dial

Dial single digit codes to call up to eight different numbers, such as frequently-dialled numbers or long strings of digits that are hard to remember.

Call park

Hold a call and retrieve it from another station within a group.

Call pick-up

Answer any ringing line within a pick-up group. To pick up a ringing call, dial the Call Pickup access code. If more than one line in the pick-up group is ringing, the call that's been ringing the longest is answered.

Call forward selective

Hand pick which calls are redirected to another destination. Determine which calls are forwarded and their forwarding address based on caller ID, day of the week or time of day.

N-way calling

Add any number of parties to a call, up to a 15 including the original caller, similar to the Three-Way Calling feature.

Push-to-talk

This intercom service lets users dial an access code followed by the called party's extension to request the station answer automatically.

Busy lamp field

Receive the call state information on all users.
